Fixture Block Support and FAQs

As a service to our customers, I will still be handling any questions about the operation of the fixture blocks. Since many people ask the same questions, I have set up a FAQ on our Support Page. There you will also find links to our product documentation. If there are any questions that you have which aren't answered there please feel free to ask.

The Fixture Block Story

In typical woodworking fashion, Ryobi BT3000 owners are known for their ingenuity and creativity, much like the saw they put at the center of their shop. No where is this more true than in design of jigs and fixtures. For every special cut, or strange piece that needs to be held, shop made jigs are a way of life for the serious woodworker. With that said, it would be impossible for us to design a line of jigs and fixtures that could satisfy the needs of every BT3000 owner. Instead we provide a simple solution for those who want to mount their own designs to their saw.

Well, we still don't have a catchy name for it, but that doesn't change the versatility of this little Jig Block. It is designed to lock into several of the available T-tracks on the BT3000, allowing users to quickly and easily mount dial indicators, sacrificial fences, stop blocks and even do router table jointing.

The concept is simple. The profile of the Jig block allows it to sit inside several of the BT3000's T-tracks. Two nylon tipped set screws lock the block into place without damaging the saw's aluminum extrusions. Then two 1/4-20 mounting holes are available for jigs and fixtures limited only by your imagination. Shown here on the top of the Rip Fence, the fixture block is perfect for mounting sacrificial router fences.

In the same manner one could use a pair to mount two fences of different thicknesses for router table edge jointing, or a tall fence for clamping featherboards to. The Fixture Block #1 also mounts to the side of rip fence where it can be used to mount stop blocks, or be used as a stop block itself.

Not to be outdone by its longer sibling, the Cross Cut Fence also accepts the Fixture Block. Since the block is equipped with 1/4-20 holes you can mount your favorite dial indicator posts to it, allowing any dial indicator to be rigidly attached to the sliding table. This allows sliding table blade alignments to be done with great accuracy. Now the BT3000 has a solution for the aluminum surface where magnetic bases don't work.

Finally, the blocks can also be mounted to the inside and bottom of both the front and the back rip fence rails. I still haven't figured out what one might do with it there, but I am sure you will!
